Median Household Income

Median household income represents the middle income for all households, where half of all households are above that number and half are below. In Bulloch County, the median household income in 2023 was $53,675. When calculating household income, this includes all adults living in the same housing unit, whether they are related to each other or not, who earn money. For example, if 4 students live in an apartment together while they attend Georgia Southern University, they would be considered a household. Suppose student A earns $10,000 a year waitressing. In that case, student B earns $15,000 as a graduate assistant at Georgia Southern, and students C & D are not employed at all while attending school; their household income would be $25,000. It does not matter that not all adults are employed or that they are not pooling resources together; the household income is calculated the same.

From 2017 to 2022, the median household income in Bulloch County rose by 36.5%.
